Dear players, past players, supporters, sponsors and members,

Introduction to Season 2011
Season 2011 is shaping as an exciting time for the Morphettville Park Football Club. I write to you to introduce myself and tell you about the success we will all be a part of next year. For those of you I have been unable to meet to date, I am Aaron Hockey and was recently appointed senior coach for the coming season. Over the past months I have gone through a fantastic application process with Troy Rosser and his team and am honoured that they selected me to lead your club on the field.

As a player I have been lucky enough to taste premiership success and that feeling drives me every day to once again be a part of a successful team. I come to the Roos with high expectation and will ensure that I give the playing group every opportunity to be successful. The time I have spent at the club to date gives me total faith in the drive of the committee, its volunteers and support staff to ably assist the playing group to achieve our goals.

During my application process I stated that there were several goals that I will look to achieve next season, and as time goes on you will all be made aware of these. However, there are three things that I will guarantee to you now, firstly, we will play a brand of football that as players you will be excited to play, as spectators you will be proud to come and watch and as sponsor you will be proud to be a part of our club. Secondly, we will return to finals football next year. And lastly for now, we will creature a professional culture at our football club that other clubs will envy.

I am under no illusions about the fact that these things will not happen overnight, however, the club is in a strong position at the moment and has some fantastic leaders. Now it is time for us to take that next step.

The club and I would like to invite you all to a pre season get together on Friday 26th November. Please be at the club anytime from 6:30pm onwards with a BBQ dinner to be served from 7:00pm.  It would be great to see everyone there, especially the entire playing group as we will sit down as a team and roll out our pre season schedule. This is an opportunity for you to have your say about how we structure this to best fit each person’s needs. We also invite all supporters, sponsors and families. On the night I hope to meet you all and have the opportunity to introduce myself to those of you I have not yet met.

For the playing group we will commence a light pre-season before Christmas with the first training scheduled for Wednesday 1st of December. We will discuss this more at the club during our get together.

Again I look forward to meeting you all in the coming weeks and am excited to get season 2011 underway.
